Voluntary Extra Time (VET) is an excellent means of earning extra pay, however, it comes with special obligations:

As ServiceMaster is required to perform our duties for our client(s) every hour of the day, we must also be reasonably able to plan, predict, and rely on our scheduled staff to attend the shifts they are scheduled to work – this is extraordinarily true of statutory holidays.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS ARE CONSIDERED “BUSINESS CRITICAL” SHIFTS, AND ARE SUBJECT TO SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

PLEASE BE ADVISED, BY APPLYING FOR VET, YOU ARE COMITTING TO ATTENDING THE SITE AS SCHEDULED AND WORKING YOUR SHIFT SAFELY AND EFFECTIVELY, IN IT’S ENTIRETY; FAILURE TO ATTEND THE SHIFT, – WITHOUT AT LEAST 72 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE (VIA APPROVED ADP NOTIFICATIONS) AND ONLY FOR ESA SANCTIONED REASONS – LATENESS, FAILURE TO PERFORM TO STANDARDS, AND/OR FAILURE TO COMPLETE YOUR ENTIRE SCHEDULED SHIFT, WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION UP TO AND INCLUDING TERMINATION FOR CAUSE.

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer for extra time, but we must underscore the importance of honouring your commitment to attend – failing to do so causes significant damage to our ability to perform, and places undue stress and hardship on your co-workers and management team, as they must compensate for your absence.

Please ensure that you attend your shift!

NOTE: the VET shifts that we offer are offered on a “first come, first served” basis, and furthermore are subject to potential change. We offer shifts based on the site open/close and hours data provided to us by our clients, however our clients may change that information at their sole discretion, with or without reasonable advanced notice. Should that occur, the Company reserves the right to modify/remove/add VET awarded shifts as it deems necessary, and at it’s sole discretion.
